The first Körmöczy János Physics Meeting took place in 1995 in Torockó. Lectures and discussions at this conference serve primarily the continuing education of physics teachers, who can expand their knowledge on the teaching methodology of this subject and can have insight into new lab experiments and exercises that foster students’ understanding of certain phenomena in this field. Presentations are usually divided into two groups, theoretical and experimental ones. The discussions following the presentations have a twofold purpose: they can bring new ideas and perspectives to teachers, and they acquaint students and prospective teachers with the wonders and the difficulties of teaching physics.
